    HAPPY THANKSGIVING

I wanted to wish EVERYONE a happy and blessed Thanksgiving with a special reminder to
give a special thanks to our Father of Lights from where all blessings flow! So, when sitting
down to have your turkey dinner, give thanks to our glorious Lord who so abundantly provides
for us! Believe me, I spent a Thanksgiving in a third world country one year and since then I
know what the real riches of Thanksgiving entails! Be blessed, in Jesus' name!

    manners

Today, I went christmas shopping with my sister and my niece. Now here is a story to the people
that say today's youth  don't know respect. We were in the checkout lane and there was an elderly
lady behind us in a scooter with a basket full. W/o the lady asking, Josie reached over and put all the
things in her basket on the counter for her. The lady thanked Josie and my sister and me were so
proud and told Josie that! Nobody asked Josie to do that but obviously she just knew, instinctly, what
was the right thing. Josie hasn't been raised in the church but obviously she has been "watching"!
So, children today are no differant from the youth of the past except they are exposed to more
bad influences, we must counter those influences by OUR behavior!

    WHY?- A POEM

    WHY?
    BY REBECCA MYERS, 11/19/06
In Memory of Domestic abuse Victims Who have died and to the "victims" that are still living.

    We know why it happens,
yet it still breaks our hearts.
And, we know where it ends
but do we remember where it starts?

Supposedly, we live in a "civilized" nation,
so why does this still go on?
As victims we curse the day we were born,
we feel like the proverbial dog.

Why don't we leave our abusers?
We have connoted love with pain.
So, we let them put us back in that "place"
    and BOTH our scars remain.

The voices are still there and we know,
everytime you tear at the band aid it bleeds.
So, who will help us fend off the "monsters"?
There must be One Who SEES.

"God replied, I AM the One Who Always Is. Just tell them, I AM has sent me to you." Exodus 3:14

    WORSHIP

Today, I've been feeling a little under the weather and very sleepy for a couple days so this morning
after my shower I felt very weak. That added to the cold spell we are experiencing down here in
Florida ( this morning was 51 degrees, BURRRR!) so I decided to skip church. I reall-ly hate missing
church on Sundays because of work, I can't get there on Wednesday nights, I love my pastor and
his family and all my church family but most of all I miss our worship time. The Holy Ghost moves
powerfully during our P&W times. So, as I was thinking on that, the Spirit whispered to me that my
ENTIRE life is a worship to the Lord-A LIVING SACRIFICE-because I do not limit my worship to Sundays
only but wake up ea morning in an attitude of worship, telling the Lord how much I love Him and
I ask Him to open my eyes to the ways I can serve Him today. That revelation blessed me and it
moved a mountain in the spiritual realm for me as well. I have a performaced based personality
that comes from trying to please my father when I was younger so grace always been hard for
me to understand-FOR ME ALONE. I am very good at extending grace to others but it can be harder
to have grace on myself.  I AM A WORSHIPPER! and God delights in ME!

    Jail ministry

Today, I felt really unfocused going into the jail. I didn't sleep very well, I'm worried about a friend
who is in an abusive situation and the abuse seems to be getting worse. And yesterday, she
"fell off her bike". So, anyways I was up all night worrying. I have my awesome prayer partners,
praise God for them and others who keep me "covered" while I  minister. That kind of prayer
really reveals God's strengths in my weaknesses. When I can't, He can and does show Himself
strong! There were 3 souls birthed into God's kingdom today at Pinellas County Jail! Angels are
rejoicing and today, especially, Christ gets ALL THE GLORY! When my focus isn't where it should
be at the moment, thank you Jesus that I'm "covered" in Your righteousness!

    IN A MOMENT-POEM

IN A MOMENT by: Rebecca Myers, May 25, 1999

The moment I am quiet and still,
it is that moment God finally speaks.
It is the moment of surrender, I can't go on,
that is the moment He reveals His will.

In the POWER of those moments,
    He reveals the real me
    and only in His HOLINESS
    can I be set free.

    In those precious moments,
    the shadows all pass away.
When I bow in HUMBLE SUBMISSION,
to a God I did not know.

    Yes, in those moments,
I see the purity of the heart of God.
The sin in me is exposed
and I see MYSELF as the fraud.

    poem

A FAITH THAT IS REAL by Rebecca Myers, Feb. 14, 2003

"Oh, what a tangled web we weave,
when, at first, we seek to decieve."
We need to ask God to forgive us for "the show".
because what was REALLY There, we didn't want to know.

We continue to judge and condemn others,
when there is dirt in our own eyes.
And we tolerate the very thing, the very shame,
that OUR INJUSTICE tries to hide.

But, we say, we didn't get here on our own!
Can you hear us world? Look at ME!
It becomes all about us, and all the while,
we think, that now, God does not see!

It sounds harsh, because in our minds, we do care.
I was there also, I watched my own show,
there weren't the words to speak then,
so NOW I SPEAK and I am very bold!

    What words will we speak?
Or will we continue to put on a show?
Or will we ACTIVELY PURSUE a holy life?
Ask the MAN OF SORROWS, He will know.

They gave us what they had, they had nothing more.
So we recieved what we didn't understand.
    We were naive children then,
now we are SUPPOSED to be men!

Let go of the selfishness of the past,
embrace the hope of Christ TODAY!
    Let your faith be real!
HIS BLOOD will wash ALL THE SIN away!

    poem by Amy Carmichael

not one of my poems but I like it-"those with ears, let them hear..."

    NO SCAR by Amy Carmichael

    "Hast thou no scar?
No hidden scar on foot, or side, or hand?
I hear thee sung as mighty in the land,
I hear them hail thy bright ascendant star,
    hast thou no scar?

    Hast thou no wound?
Yet I was wounded by the archers, spent...
leaned me against the tree to die, and rent
by ravening beasts that encompassed me, I swooned.
    Hast thou no wound?

    No wound, no scar?
Yet, as the Master shall the servant be,
    and, pierced are the feet that follow Me;
but thine are whole: can he have followed far,
who has no wound nor scar?"

This speaks to me of brokenness, the only servant the Lord can use. "It is BY FAITH, not works,
    that you are saved".

    Pictures

The beautiful drawings on my blog of "THE BELOVED" were drawn by my friend Amy so I
want to give her the credit she deserves. Anyone interested in more, please contact me
on this blog and I will get in touch with her. I know that I speak on her behalf, that you
be blessed as you view her pictures and I hope my poetry and teachings are a blessing
    as well.

    The Suffering Child-poem

THE SUFFERING CHILD SPEAKS by: Rebecca Myers, Sept. 27,2002
    In memory of my cousin, Brenda Forrest-Thomas, Sept. 22, 1960-Sept. 2, 2002

O Heavenly Father, You Who see all!
If we could speak, what would we say?
Would we ask for courage and delieverance
or would we plead for Someone to take the shame away?

Would we ask for your mercy?
We would want to give away this pain.
    Take these tears of sorrow,
and thru this darkness, clear a way.

Will You be moved with compassion?
Will you tell the memories NO MORE!
Can You say what we cannot?
Someone has to shut that door!

So we ask, we plead, "Please take the fear away!"
Replace the rage with unconditional love.
That is the love that turned the world upside down!
A love that was born from above.

A poem about childhood sexual abuse and the scars it leaves behind.

    October 31

    Josie's birthday

I never got into Halloween celebrations even before I was saved, coming from an abusive background,
I was scared of many things so I didn't like to cover my face, I had panic attacks because of that. Plus
my dear grandfather was buried on Halloween when I was 10 so that took any fun out that I thought
about. Then we I became a christian and realized the true meaning was to glorify satan, I was definitely
finished plus I have an irish heritage and Halloween came over from Ireland with the Druid's asto ward
off evil spirits during harvest, so Christ broke all generational curses off me by His blood sacrifice so I can
be free from those bondages. So, Oct 31 was just another day to me until my niece was born! Now,
I had another reason to celebrate life! I never had my own children so she is my joy! Christ has indeed
restored to me EVERYTHING the devil stole from me, even a day that was used to bring him glory!

    esteeming God

I had a prophetic dream about a friend, it was a little disturbing but after I prayed in my spirit
language, I felt released in my spirit to tell my friend. I knew my friend "wouldn't recieve it"
well but I was obediant to Christ. Well, I was right about my friend and he was offended-
tried to laugh it off. This morning, I asked the Lord again if I did the right thing because I feel
bad about my friend. He said that my friend needed "shaking up" because he had stopped
hearing from the Lord in some area. And I was the vessel the Lord chose to do the shaking!
He does that thru me sometimes, it crucifies my flesh in the process also because I'm walking
further into the Spirit realm. Anyways, the Lord also said I proved that I esteem Him over
the approval of people and that makes Him happy, it glorifies Him. So, I rejoice that I pleased
    my King!

    DANCING WITH THE KING-poem

I Co-wrote this poem with my friend, Frank Piri so I dedicate it to him. Thank you Frank
for helping me find the words to express my vision.
    DANCING WITH THE KING-written 4/28/06

    Dancing with the King.
    What a wonderful, glorious thing!
    Liquid eyes melting into mine,
with a love both sweet and divine.

    Lips gently brushing my cheek,
as I follow His graceful lead.
Like a butterfly spreading her wings,
I am curiously drawn to this heat.

To a fire I cannot resist,
This desire that has made me feel alive.
Where once flames of oppression left me weak,
now clouds of glory are beneath my feet.

In Christ, the weak become strong,
and His strength has become my song!
The song that created a bride,
fully assured that the King stands at her side.

    Passion's Flame-poem

PASSION'S FLAME by Rebecca Myers, 10/05/06

You are still you, I AM still Me.
    Darkness has found the LIGHT,
    the differance now, My beloved,
is now you are beginning to SEE.

    The words never mattered.
They were just part of the game that was played.
    When hearts are touched,
it isn't about what they say.

    YOU are My friend,
    I really don't care
about what was said or not,
because, IN THE SILENCE, what do WE share?

    So, this is MY SONG!
    Now, what were the words
that I WROTE on YOUR HEART?
Because I AM but are YOU sure?

Love knows no passion or depth.
It's passions burn like BLAZING FIRE.
But if you contain THAT FIRE,
you can see what is left.

    Not a heart of mercy.
    Not SOMEONE like Me.
I ALWAYS WAS the freshness of the morning dew.
And all along I WAS THE ONE waiting.

    Greater Love-poem

    Greater Love
    by Rebecca Myers, 10/09/03

Isn't the love you always wanted?
A love deemed true and faithful,
    a love called COVENANT?
Any other substitute seems so distant and cold.

AGAPE LOVE-the highest form of love.
The love Christ lived and died for,
    God's own UNCONDITIONAL LOVE
and THE KING lives behind THE DOOR!

So, why do we settle for less?
Less than what Jesus paid for at THE CROSS?
    Because WE'VE sold ourselves short,
we believed the deception that love has NO COST.

But this is what Christ did for me,
    what He didfor you too
and NEVER AGAIN will we be so loved.
    But if we only knew...

    But we KNOW NOW!
And we can choose to believe and recieve!
A love that TOUCHES and RESTORES our souls!
It is THE PASSION we need to live and breathe!

"Greater love has NO ONE than this, than to lay
down his life for his friends." John 15:13

    Restoration

I ministered to 17 women yesterday at Pinellas County Jail in the central division. I played 5 minutes
of a Joyce Meyer's teaching in which she went over John 5:1-8, in which she spoke about the lame
man at the pool of Bethsaida and Christ asked the man, "Do you want to get well?" The man had
lain there every day for 35 yrs, waiting for someone to put him in the pool when the angel of the Lord
stirred the waters so he could be healed. So, for 35 yrs the man did nothing to help himself get into
the pool but waited for someone else to do his work. Then Jesus told the man, "Get up and walk
and take up your bed!" Not only did the Lord heal the man but told him to clean up after himself.
When we are healed, we still have past memories to deal with. As with me, after I was born into
the kingdom of God, I still had "messes" with people and in my thought life I had to deal with, let
go of the pain of the past and the blaming of others for our Present circumstances! We still allow
our past to determine our present and future, make them "pay" for what wronged us in the past.
We aren't "victims" any longer, we CHOOSE our behavior now and the way we think about it NOW.
The past is past, let's deal with what's happening now according to the mercies of Christ. Quit
blaming others for your messes. I was abused as a child and I spent YEARS blaming all people
for what a couple people done to me. I justified it and let that one bad "apple" spoil the whole
    basket!
So, yesterday as I knelt on my knees and prayed to the Lord to glorify Himself in these women,
the manifest, shekinah glory fell! Father God, I thank You for Your comfort in a place where "angels
fear to tread". Thank You for Your mercies that are new ea day, because we need fresh hope for
ea new day. In Jesus name, Amen.

    Shalom,
    Rebecca

    poem

The Bride-revised 10/25/06 by Rebecca Myers

    As the bride of Christ,
I reside in the very heart of God.
    And MY HEART beats passionately
    for THE ONE I love.

He has given me a great honor
that I can only stand here amazed.
Oh yes, I do love You Yeshua!
    So let it rain!!!

What a gift I have been given,
    this blessing from above.
    It is YOUR PRESENCE, ISHI,
    to You I run.

    Romans 11:33

"Oh, what a wonderful God we have! How great are His riches and wisdom and knowledge! How
impossible it is for us to nunderstand His decisions and His methods!"

I minister at the local jail: teaching and counseling the female inmates about the emotional healing Christ has for us. I depend on the wisdom of God to give "a word in season" that will penetrate their hard exteriors
and go straight to the heart. I use my own abusive background yet ea person's history is differant
and only the One that has been there with them and He knows all can "see and know". So, I rely
on that imparted wisdom to minister effectively and it is amazing what I can "sense" thru Christ's
    imparted wisdom.

    Shalom,
    Rebecca

    Florida weather

I was just talking to a friend online from New York state and she was telling me it was cool there

today. So, I responded that this is my favorite time of year because it didn't get out of the 70's

here today, a strong breeze blowin' all day! Then it hit me!!! Was I bragging? NOT ME!!!!

I grew up in St. Johns, Michigan and YEEESS, I remember the "cool temperatures". Yeah, I wasn't

thinking Barb! The hot temps down here for the last 20 yrs have probably helped fry my brains but

I do remember how to be compassionate! Need a blanket? Maybe I can find one somewhere.

    Quote

    wisdom
    10/22/06
Today my pastor ended a series on walking in the wisdom of God. God's wisdom isn't dependant on who we are or how much knowledge we think we have or not, it is dependant on who God is-His goodness:Christ's
sacrifice to redeem us to the Father. And to walk continually in the wisdom of God is to remain humble and pliable to all His ways. Wisdom can be corrupted if we turn our backs on God, as in the case of Lucifer when
he allowed his pride to defile and he thought he was better than God, his Creator. Thus when he fell, the bible says he took a third of the angels with him. I have a friend, once a very wise and trusted mentor in the Lord-a true brother in Christ-yet he allowed an offense to come into his heart and he turned his heart away from God. Oh, he still goes to church about once a month but when I see him, it breaks my heart to see the man hehas become when I know Christ has sooo much for him but Bob let it slip away. Can he ever be restored? Christ is still in the business of restoration but so much time is being wasted!!! And in my own walk, I shudder to think I could ever walk away from Christ but we know there are alot of little distractions and offenses thatcan carry us away, then before we know it....Lord, you are the desire of my heart so I ask you to consecrate me anew. I repent of all the wordly cares I allow into my life, that have no eternal value and only serve to take me away from you. Amen.

10/23/06 "Out of the stump of David's family will grow a shoot-yes, a new Branch bearing fruit from the old root. And the Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him-the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord. He will never judge by appearance, false evidence, or hearsay. He will defend the poor and the exploited. He will rule against the wicked and destroy them with the Breath of His mouth".
    Isaiah 11:1-5
This a scripture I use to pray over the man the Lord will bring to me for my husband and it
does work! Alot of men have not been able to live up to this standard and the Lord has exposed
    satan's schemes.
